What is Hefeweizen Anyways? ◦ Changing My Life in One Year ◦ Week Sixteen

I'm figuring out the best way to format these is almost as a journal, take it day by day and report to y'all the things I am doing on a daily basis to make the next day better for myself.

On Monday, I went on a walk on Monday which was set to be 2.5 miles and, for the first time ever, I ran an entire mile and did it in 14:03. That's my fastest mile ever! When I started working out in January, I was doing ~17:56 minute mile, which is almost four full minutes shaved off. I'm getting stronger and have more stamina. I'm elated for what the rest of this year and onward has in store. <3

These past few weeks I've been looking for more ways to contribute around the house. On Tuesday, I added to dinner and went and bought corn ribs + the topping for elote from Trader Joe's and made them as a dinner side. I also made Spanish rice and cleaned up after dinner. These aren't big things, but they made me feel more helpful and satisfied with my behavior and that's what matters.

Wednesday, I don't have any notes, and I keep notes in my planner when I do something worth noting on here. Maybe this means things like the gym are becoming so routine they aren't worth noting.

Thursday, I did put in a request to a psychiatrist near me. I was previously on Vyvanse for binge eating and ADHD and Vyvanse Layne/Non-Vyvanse Layne are like night and day. I'd love to get back on it and also talk through some things/start therapy in general. I am waiting to hear back from them to schedule an appointment, but I'm planning to make the doctor rounds in general soon.

Friday, I had a pre-emptive bug spray for ants around our house and for dinner we went to a brewery called Horse Thief Hollow. It used to be one of my favorite places, but our visit was so disappointing this time. I tried a beer called Pink Pom Pom, which they brew each May for Mother's Day and I didn't like that much: the flavors nor the general beer taste. I looked it up and the Hefeweizen and this is what I found:

Hefeweizen is a traditional, unfiltered Bavarian wheat beer. The name comes from German: “hefe” means yeast and “weizen” means wheat. Unlike most beers you will find on tap, Hefeweizen stays deliberately cloudy because it is never filtered, leaving the yeast suspended in the liquid.

We can cross that kind off of my list into my beer journey.

Sunday, I hit 250 adventures on Finch and 16 perfect weeks (or 112 Days) on Lose It, my food tracking app. I love that the apps I have been using regularly for this challenge and general self-care track milestones because it's encouraging to see how far I have come and how much work I have put in.
