Friends, this was a packed week!
On Monday evening I played tennis. I'm making it a point to play more this summer. There's a court near my house with lights, but there are only two courts, so we have to watch if other people are coming and if they are playing Pickleball. I have to get my racket restrung and I'm debating signing up for an indoor club through the park district this Fall.
On Wednesday, I went on a tour of my job's warehouse, and I had book club with some work friends at lunch. I didn't finish the book, but it was nice to chat with some people that have similar interests and are around my age. Most of the girls on my team are a couple of years older with kids, so there is some disconnect in terms of conversation and interests. Wednesday night I went to a coffee shop with one of my best friends and we talked for almost four hours. <3
Thursday was my library's book club where we read More or Less Maddy. On my journey to try different drinks, I had an aperol spritz and I didn't love it, but it was refreshing, which I greatly appreciated. I don't think I'm a champagne girl, but I'll keep you posted. Book Club was very cliquey and not enjoyable. I don't know if I would go again, but I have started thinking about starting my own book club.
Friday, I went to dinner with my friend, Molly, where we had Japanese food. I stuck with my usual Tofu Pad Thai but opted for a lychee martini under recommendation of the waiter and it was delicious. I don't know much about martinis, but this one was made with haku vodka, lychee, and a little bit of pineapple.
After dinner, we went to see Obsession, and I loved it so much I saw it twice this weekend.
Saturday, I started my day at a Pokemon card show where I didn't buy a lot, but I did find some cool cards and got a free card. :) After the card show, Rock Island Public House was partnering up with Bookies to host a book fair at Rock Island. I had this PB&J beer and I loved it:
I also bought copies of Ring Shout and My Heart is a Chainsaw, but I am putting myself on a book-buying ban until I read through everything I own.
After the book fair, Jorge, Jose and I went to play tennis for about an hour, ate hotdogs, and watching Obsession (again.)
